Did you carefully complete the reading assignment?
yes no

In the previous day's reading, we found a relationship for the distance of an object and the distance of its image for a reflecting surface. Today we've done the same but for a refracting surface. How exactly are these different? (Don't answer in purely mathematical language.)

Is it necessary to assume that lenses are thin? (How thin do they need to be? Is that realistic?)

Was there anything that you didn't understand in the reading assignment? If so, explain.
